Botox®

At Taryn Laine Clinic we use both Botox® and Dysport for cosmetic facial appearance improvements as well as treating hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
Our anti-wrinkle injections are virtually painless and are administered by our well established, experienced and qualified head aesthetic physician - Dr Mike Henry, who consistently produces incredibly natural results.

How does it work for cosmetic facial improvements?

To put it simply, “anti-wrinkle injections” (Botox and Dysport) are just what they sound like - injections that are administered with the aim of “getting rid-of” or improving the appearance of wrinkles, that in turn can cause unwanted (old and tired) facial appearances. Did you know that wrinkles are essentially just muscles that the brain is telling to move in a certain way? [OR] Did you know that wrinkles are essentially caused by the brain telling your facial muscles to move in a certain way? Therefore, injecting either Botox and Dysport work by temporarily disconnecting the muscles from the nerves that send these instructions from the brain. It relaxes and prevents unwanted excessive muscle activity that leads to unattractive facial expressions. In turn, your brain no longer gets the full extent of the moving of muscles that it wants. To put it simply, anti-wrinkle injections keep the muscles relaxed even though your brain wants you to frown.

Surveys all over the world show that people don’t want to appear grumpy, anxious, tired or saggy; they are seeking an age appropriate good version of themselves. Neither does any one want to look ‘over-done", or "frozen". We at Taryn Laine Clinic completely get that; therefore, our commitment to you is the pursuit of a "natural" appearing result.

FAQ

Dermal Fillers

Known as Tissue Filler Injections or Liquid Face Lifts. Filler injections are a modern safe way to quickly and easily volumnise the face, getting rid of the shadowy lines and hollows, thus recreating the ‘triangle of beauty’ and establishing the full contours of the attractive face and lips.

Years ago, only face lifting was on offer and this often created an ascetic, drawn, “skull-like” appearance that was disappointing to say the least. Volumising (Filling) was the missing magic ingredient and the only way to do it back then was by surgically implanting solid prostheses and stitching them into place under general anaesthetic. Today, in the clinic chair we can re-volumise parts of the face in a truly gratifying way – and to top it all off, it’s quick, easy and safe with minimal downtime and a predictable outcome.

Injecting your own fat taken from other body areas is another wonderful way to do it, click here for more info on facial fat transfer.

For a step above, the combination of anti-wrinkle injections and dermal tissue fillers is frequently used and can achieve amazing results.

We are constantly amazed at the transforming effects achievable by revolumising (filling) critical facial areas and features especially when combined, where needed, with Botox/Dysport and where needed, other facial treatments like chemical peels, micro needling etc.

FAQ

ARE DERMAL FILLERS SAFE?

Dermal fillers are safe when performed by a qualified Aesthetic doctor.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS OF DERMAL FILLERS LAST?

Typically between 6 to 12 months.

Chemical Peels

Skilled application of different chemical solutions at specific concentrations (strengths) leads to the exfoliation (falling or peeling off) of old, tired, “leathery - looking” upper skin layers.

The skins natural renewal and healing processes are thus set in motion, leading to a fresher, smoother appearance. Excessive Melanin Pigment (Melasma) can also be treated with chemical peels.

Different peels we offer at the Taryn Laine Clinic:

- The Enzyme Peel (The Basic)

A gentle peel for all skin types, achieving a graceful glow but no real “change” in skin issues. Neostrata Glycolic Peels at varying strengths:

- 20%
- 35%
- 50%
- 70%

There is option to add Boosters, either clarifying or anti-oxidant.

- Retinol Peel
- TCA Peel
- SkinCeuticals pigment balancing peel
- Cryolift

For a proper indication of what chemical peel your skin needs, you can book a free consultation with our Aesthetic Clinician where you will be assed and advised accordingly. For more in depth skin problems, a consultation together with our clinician and Dr Henry can be booked, at a once-off fee of R690.

FAQ

Microneedling

Virtually painless, micro-needling of the skin dermis using a mechanized Dermapen apparatus causes new collagen formation and skin surface rejuvenation via the body’s natural response to wounding.

Microneedling is a dermaroller procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin. The purpose of treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. Microneedling is mostly used on the face for skin issues such as acne scarrring, pigmentation and melasma, and may also be used treat various scars, wrinkles, and large pores.

Dermaplaning

Our Aesthetic Clinician, using a fine blade gently & manually exfoliates the superficial dead and dull skin layers and fine facial hair leaving a smooth glowing skin. The dreaded “peach-fuzz” facial hairs are removed leaving the face as the perfect foundation for later flawless make-up application. For enhanced results use in combination with one of our chemical peels or Cryolift treatments.
